Where in the world is Melly?

Physically, I am in Atlanta. Blog-wise... let me tell you a short story.

When I started my budget travel blog, I thought I would have so much time to write. (I always think there are more hours in the day than there really are and that I have enough time to do EVERYTHING on my to-do list.) Please tell me I am not the only one.

I also thought it would be a good idea to start my budget travel blog in the second semester of my second master's degree program. (This should tell you where I have been.) I have been working hard on assignments, readings, discussion posts, and most recently, a large portfolio and final applied project. It took a lot of blood, sweat, and tears (figuratively), but I survived! And now,

I am proud to announce that I finished my program as of July 2023! I am officially a two-time master's degree holder! My first degree was in Applied Linguistics with a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages certificate, and this second degree is in Learning, Leadership, and Organization Development.

So where have I been if I finished school in July? Working and taking much-deserved vacations! I cannot wait to blog about those affordable travel experiences. I went to California with my boyfriend, Tampa with my mom and aunt (as a graduation present), Virginia to visit a college friend, and New York with my boyfriend and his family (another graduation present). The best, most affordable way to travel is definitely to let someone gift you a trip! #budgettravel

I know this was a short and sweet post, but I wanted to update you all on why I have been M.I.A. I am coming back! I enjoy writing for myself as a way to remember my trips and reflect on them. I also enjoy writing for you all and sharing helpful information and new destinations for you to create some of your own memories.
